Statement of Faith
Veritas Academy’s approach to being Bible-based and interdenominational is that secondary doctrines may be discussed in class, but beliefs are left to the family & church for final authority.
Apostles’ Creed
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell; On the third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
We also believe:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
All children are made in the image of God. (Genesis 1:27)
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
Jesus calls all to repent from their sins and believe. (Mark 1:15)
Jesus desires that none should perish, but all to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Jesus. (John 14:6)
In Jesus we are a new eternal creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
The Holy Spirit teaches us all things and reminds us of everything Jesus taught. (John 14:26)
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 12:28-31; I John 5:7)
Our purpose is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. (Deut. 6:4-9; Mark 12:30)
Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that men and women of God may be equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We are commissioned to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey all things. (Matthew 28:18-20)
In the end of time, there will be a great multitude that no one can count from every nation, tribe, people and language worshipping Jesus. (Revelation 7:9)
